Agnès Barthélémy elected at the French Academy of Sciences

We were very proud that our colleague and friend Agnès Barthélémy, Prof. at Université Paris-Saclay, has been elected as a new member of the French Academy of Sciences. Created in 1666, the Academy of Sciences is an assembly of scientists, chosen among the most eminent French and foreign specialists. It conducts reflections on the political, ethical and societal issues raised by the great scientific questions of today and tomorrow.

It reflects, anticipates, explains and pronounces itself, notably through opinions and recommendations, taking positions when necessary. Its work aims to provide a framework of expertise, advice and warning, on which public policies can be based, and more broadly to enlighten the debates and choices of our society. The Academy of Sciences also supports research, is committed to the quality of science education and promotes scientific life at the international level.
