Congratulations Julien !

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, Julien Bréhin defended his PhD thesis entitled “Ferroelectric control of spin and charge transport in oxide-based Rashba 2DEGs“. The committee highlighted how Julien pioneered entirely new concepts of two-dimensional electron gases able to control spin-charge interconversion by ferroelectricity, also pushing the boundaries of multiferroic through the development of 2DEGs displaying coupled ferroelectric and magnetic order. Congrats to him !

ERC PoC UPLIFT granted

Manuel Bibes has been awarded an ERC Proof-of-Concept grant, spun off the ongoing Advanced Grant FRESCO. The UPLIFT PoC project proposes to develop an ultra-low power logic-in-memory device based on ferroelectrics and spintronics. This component will allow a considerable reduction in the energy consumption of computing architectures compared to current technology (CMOS). The UPLIFT project will serve as an accelerator for a start-up company currently being created.
