On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, Julien Bréhin defended his PhD thesis entitled “Ferroelectric control of spin and charge transport in oxide-based Rashba 2DEGs“. The committee highlighted how Julien pioneered entirely new concepts of two-dimensional electron gases able to control spin-charge interconversion by ferroelectricity, also pushing the boundaries of multiferroic through the development of 2DEGs displaying coupled ferroelectric and magnetic order.
