Sara Varotto pursued her Ph. D. program at Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy. Her project aimed at the nonvolatile ferroelectric tuning of the Rashba physics in Germanium Telluride for Spin-Orbitronics devices. She developed expertise in molecular beam epitaxy, piezoresponse force microscopy, spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and ferromagnetic resonance spin pumping technique. She joined the Oxitronics group in November 2019 as a post-doctoral researcher, financially supported by the ERC Advanced Grant ‘FRESCO’.  She is working on the ferroelectric control of spin-charge interconversion in Rashba heterostructures.
