Elzbieta Gradauskaite

Elzbieta Gradauskaite joined the Oxitronics group of the CNRS/Thales in November 2023, as a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) postdoctoral fellow. Elsa carried out her doctoral studies at ETH Zurich, where her research focused on interfacial effects at ultrathin ferroelectric and ferromagnetic heterostructures. After her PhD, Elsa worked as R&D Scientist at Evatec – a company providing thin-film deposition and processing systems, where she had a glimpse at the industry requirements and scientific trends in the semiconductor and optoelectronics markets.

She brings expertise in pulsed laser deposition of complex oxide phases, e.g. garnets and layered perovskite-based phases. Elsa is also knowledgeable in thin-film characterization, including non-linear optics, X-ray diffraction, various types of scanning probe microscopy, focused ion beam milling, scanning electron microscopy, SQUID-based magnetometry and ferroelectric testing.

In her free time, Elsa enjoys mountaineering and rock climbing, jogging, singing, and craft beers.
